The Ministry of Finance launches seven working groups to drive gender finance forward
On International Women's Day, the Ministry of Finance announces the launch of seven working groups, each with a strategic focus to drive gender finance initiatives forward. These working groups were launched at a meeting of the Gender Finance Task Force, an initiative of the Ministry of Finance to champion gender equality in and by the financial sector. The gender finance working groups will focus on "data of women in finance", "mentorship, sponsorship and career development", "education", "events and talent", "definitions and standards", "innovation and acceleration", and "gender intelligent products and services for women". Representatives from a broad spectrum of the financial sector active in gender finance will join the working groups. The aim is to achieve tangible results.
Presiding over the meeting, the Minister of Finance, Gilles Roth remarked: "I am honored to carry forward this significant initiative in gender finance. A balanced representation of women in decision-making is a clear way to better and more sustainable outcomes in our financial sector. This aligns with our government's commitment as outlined in our coalition agreement. Today, as we inaugurate the working groups, I want to thank each chair and member for leading the way and showcasing our financial center's capacity for innovation and leadership".
The meeting also marked the launch of a dedicated website for the Gender Finance Task Force, which will serve as a hub for information, resources, and updates on gender finance initiatives, including the activities of the task force and its working groups. https://www.genderfinancetaskforce.com/
